Background

Recognizing energy’s crucial role in catalyzing Namibia’s socio-economic growth  and the need for collaboration to unlock this value — RichAfrica, with the endorsement of the government, founded the Namibia International Energy Conference (NIEC) in 2012.

Previously known as the Namibia International Oil and Gas Conference, NIEC has since grown into a leading thought-leadership platform where industry leaders, executives, and policymakers engage in dialogue, exchange ideas, forge partnerships, and shape strategies to advance a prosperous energy industry in Namibia and beyond.

The Convenor

RichAfrica Consultancy, a proudly women-led strategic advisory firm, has over a decade of experience in oil, gas, energy, and natural resources governance. As Namibia’s trusted local content partner, we help investors and service companies unlock opportunities through tailored solutions — from market entry support and strategy advisory to stakeholder engagement and capacity building.

Beyond advisory, we are convenors at heart. Through platforms such as the Namibia International Energy Conference and the Energy Nexus, we bring people together — uniting policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, and communities. Our work fosters partnerships, drives in-country value, and shapes strategies that deliver sustainable growth and shared prosperity across the energy value chain.

The Ministry’s mandate and dedication align with NIEC’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth and the responsible development of Namibia’s energy resources.
